Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

Now that I have almost limitless time to write, it’s become extraordinarily hard to write. Not surprisingly – I’ve always written best, most effortlessly, when I’m stealing time from other things, as though the creative part of my brain only functions as an odd kind of parallel circuit to the responsible workaholic’s.

I find the same applies to me. It's almost as if I have to be in gear - doing something, anything - in order to write.

Depressed, as usual...

As planned, Galina left for Houston a little after noon, and should be there tomorrow night.

As is my wont, I've dirtied an unconscionable number of dishes in the kitchen, eaten probably a bit too much, and am working on my third beer. It's my way of coping, I guess.

Part of the mess in the kitchen has to do with "harvesting" the first and creating a new batch of kombucha. The first batch had been brewing since late last Thursday, which makes it five days, and had developed a nice new "child" scoby and a pleasantly fizzy product.

The kefir has been doing well, too, although I'll need to probably cut down on the amount I make, as I only drink about 6 oz. of the stuff per day, while I've probably already got a week's supply in a jar in the fridge and another quart or so brewing.

The work plate is now full until Monday, which is good news. Tonight, however, I'm just going to goof off and watch television.
