The madness never ends...
Nov. 5th, 2009 04:38 pmThe next PowerPoint presentation is 112 slides in length. Assuming one limits oneself to one minute per slide, the presentation would take about 2 hours.
I don't think I could retype it (much less retranslate it) in 2 hours.
* * * The book on artisan bread claimed that one could use, among others, the dough for the boule bread as pizza dough, so last night I did that.
The result was surprisingly good, and my first from-scratch pizza, with bruschetta contributing tomato and basil, provolone (no mozzarella in the house), and soy protein acting as meat substitute. I didn't try anything fancy with the dough, I just flattened it and tried to make something big enough to cover the pizza stone in the oven.
* * * The issue with the client is resolved. As it turned out, they hadn't informed me of a policy change earlier in the year, so they're going to go ahead and pay my invoice as-is. The news brightened up my mood considerably.
* * * I dropped by Comcast to swap modems, in case the problem I'm experiencing is hardware-based. It's not, which makes the length of time it's taking to resolve my lack of connectivity all that much more puzzling. It's been three full days, now. You'd think they'd either have seen something similar by now or, at any rate, figured out what the problem is and sent a guy in with a wrench, already.
Even Galina is starting to feel antsy about the situation, and that's saying a lot!
If I hope to get a nice start on the PowerPoint translation, I better get a fire lit now!
Cheers...
