More snow...
Feb. 22nd, 2010 07:55 amNight visibility out our windows was nominal at around 1 am, when I let Shiloh out for a pit stop. By morning, the snow had returned, again falling as fine particles that added perhaps another two inches to the white stuff already lying on the ground around the house.
I downloaded the latest build of Boxee yesterday, and was pleased to note that now it actually does play 'net-available television programs, though the scope of such availability is pretty spotty.
In other news, Zora is back with us (specifically, with Galina in Houston). Apparently, she kept her adoptive parents up nights for the time she was with them, and was thus banished from their tribe. I'm glad Galina has some animal companionship in Houston (even if it messes with the proper way to "stage" a house for prospective clients), because having a friendly creature to interact with when you're alone takes the edge off. Without Shiloh and the cats here in Pagosa, I'm sure that by now, I'd be a lot nuttier than I am.
Apropos of which, I've had a hearty breakfast, so it's time to go have a second cup of coffee and then "turn to" on shoveling snow from the verandah and continuing to clean up downstairs. (If the previous sentence seems a non sequitur, please reread the last sentence of the previous paragraph. :)
Oh, and some marvelous news from Texas (which is an example of oxymoron): Galina took the Infiniti to a place we've used several times in Houston - Hare Repair, near the intersection of Star and Bering - and they managed to fix the vehicle for roughly 10% of what the dealership quoted (mostly by not having to replace a horrifically expensive set of wiring harnesses). This is, like, the third or fourth time over the years we've been pleasantly surprised by the speed, quality, and economy of the work this shop does, especially since Galina and I are driving older cars.
Got to go, the neighbor is here with his Cat to clear the driveway, and the process works better if I clear off the concrete slab at the garage.
Cheers...
