Trying to get work done...
Aug. 14th, 2010 04:39 pmActually, I've accomplished most of what I planned to get done today (there remains the re-familiarization with the Chicago Manual of Style, which just doesn't excite me as much as it should), but I'd probably get a lot more done if it weren't for all the distractions.
The first of these was the visit this morning by a family of deer. The camera on the DROID X is pretty handy, and there's no complaint about the resolution (8 MP), but it doesn't seem to do so well in high-contrast situations. (May all my troubles be so serious, as my mother used to say.) Still, it does the job:

Then like it or not, I really had to do something with all of the mushrooms I put in the fridge yesterday before commencing today's work session at the computer. Our dehydrator is nowhere to be found - I know I didn't throw it out - and threading mushrooms on string is a royal pain, so I improvised some dehydration platforms by winding fishing line around some wire shelving. The room next door now looks like Mushroom Central.

Perhaps its time to sit down with "Chicago."
Cheers...
