Notes from the world of work...
Aug. 15th, 2010 06:40 pmI am beginning to regret not having subscribed to the Chicago Manual of Style instead of buying a dead tree edition. I may subscribe yet, however, if only to save at least as much chargeable time over the course of The Big Edit™. I am currently 1/3 of the way through this week's slug, the deadline for submittal of which has been extended, but I don't want to use all of the additional time, so we're good for now.
As far as the current translation is concerned, I outdid myself today, so that there are less than 5000 source words left, which ought to allow me to deliver the final product on Wednesday morning.
The weather has been glorious all weekend long, but between bouts with the computer, I remind myself that the windfall of mushrooms we collected on Friday needs to be dealt with. Fortunately, Galina found the dehydrator in the garage (someone, who shall remain nameless, actually put it in a box, and labeled the box "Dehydrator"... Go figure...), which didn't entirely address the problem at hand, but put a good dent in it.
It's high time to save all files and shut down the computer. There's a beer upstairs calling out my name.
Cheers...
