Taking it easy...
Aug. 28th, 2010 06:12 pmGalina and I packed up the Ford with trash for a run to the dump, and included the stash of old tires that had been serving no useful purpose under the verandah. Having tires to dump meant not being able to use the trash station near town (tires go to the county landfill, which is quite a way off), and having to pay extra to empty the Ford, but there comes a time when one must take the bull by the tail and squarely face the situation.
After emptying the car, Shiloh and I headed down to Site Lima, which turned out to be barren, except for a couple of worm-eaten Suillis off to the side of the road.
Just for laughs, I went for a little walk, just to clear my head and get the stink of the landfill out of my clothes, and I ran into yet another grouping of lobster mushrooms that extends the boundaries of Site Lima yet again. Including today's haul, I figure I've probably brought home around two kilos of these mushrooms this year.
Now, if only I could train Shiloh to sniff them out! I mean, she's mostly Catahoula. Hmmm.
Cheers...
