We made it to the beach today, via back roads because the brand new highway appears to have been built a little too fast, resulting in some structural problems along some of the shoulders. If the highway had been serviceable, we were told that getting to Jacó would've taken about an hour. As it turned out, with all the traffic joining us on the back roads, it took us more than two hours each way.

Before we got to Jacó, we stopped to take a boat ride up a river, and I still need to look at what, if anything, came out on my camera (between the exotic birds in the trees and attempts to feed crocodiles, something ought to look good.

The tours are over for the week. Galina and I plan on visiting some spots in San Jose tomorrow, after which we'll have to pack and get ready to fly home.

Cheers...
