It's been just one of those days, y'know?
I do not think there is any utility in recounting what went on, at least not on the negative side, because it's not interesting (unless you're into schadenfreude) and will have no beneficial long-term effect. Of course, that said, there's almost nothing at all to speak of, but let me try—
Four new jobs came in today, which allowed me to exercise my newly designed OneNote tracking system. The system held up well, and I made an addition to my template to make absolutely sure I acknowledge incoming files. (A frenetic work pace is not an excuse.)
I completed the two jobs on my plate from yesterday and sent them off, which allowed me to put the system through some additional paces, as I had used the system yesterday to log in the new work. As a result of some inadvertent lapses, I modified the system to highlight them so as avoid them in the future.
If it sounds as if I've drunk the ISO-9000 Kool-Aid well—I am, generally speaking, not a real big fan of paperwork, but ever since my days working at Plenum (and particularly during that period when I was learning to fly), I've recognized the utility of checklists. (What's hard is creating a useful checklist, but that's grist for another post.)
As I post this, I am about 1500 words behind where I need to be, but I'm hoping I can play some high-quality catch-up tomorrow.
Mike just showed up from upstate, and it's dinnertime. Chow!
Cheers...
