Petty annoyances, part XLVII...
Feb. 22nd, 2011 06:11 pmThere's something about receiving a letter from one's mortgage company that has nothing to do with any kind of effort on the company's part to collect a debt (in this particular case, the company was returning an insurance check we had sent to them for endorsement), only to read the standard boilerplate at the bottom about how the company "is a debt collector and is attempting to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose."
There seems to be a lot of mindless rule-following going on, although here I have in mind a broader class than just mortgage companies.
And none of it can bode well for us.
Cheers...
