I should have known...
Apr. 5th, 2011 06:09 pmOur New York tenant did say he'd be out of the house on the fifth, so we spent last night at the closest inn, called The Tides Motel, in Bayville. When we visited the house today, it was clear there was no way the place would be emptied by the end of the day, which was confirmed by an SMS from the tenant.
So, we are esconsed again in a motel on Long Island. Gas prices in Nassau County, by the way, are not as high as I had expected, peaking near Glen Cove (I saw one sign with $3.999 per gallon in Locust Valley) and averaging around $3.75 to $3.85 in other places we saw on the way to the bank (Wells Fargo apparently completed their acquisition of Wachovia, so I was able to make a deposit today.)
My connectivity factor went up substantially today, too, so I'm looking forward to any incoming assignments starting tomorrow morning.
Cheers....
