In motion...

I'm headed back to Pagosa today. Tuesdays, it seems, are the best time to travel, since the ticket to fly today from LaGuardia to Durango costs less than the usual fare between Denver and Durango.

While we wait for the cable people to set up service in New York, I set up my dad's VCR and we watched some old films over the past few nights. Last night, it was Kirk Douglas' turn with Spartacus, and before last night, I hadn't realized that the film had been directed by Stanley Kubrick.

The weather into Chicago makes conserving my iPad's battery a good idea. We may circle for a while.

The Windy City...

The delay that threatened to potentiallly cause me to miss my connection to Denver never materialized, but it wasn't for lack of turbulence. The flight out of LaGuardia was full, naturally, and as I was in the last boarding group, there was a good chance that my single carry-on was going to have to be checked at the gate.

As it turned out, word came filtering back that there were still some overhead spaces left in the vary back of the plane, but these had vanished by the time I got there. Upon hearing the news, I quickly stowed my bag in an open spot in row 12, and then squeezed my way back to row 23, carrying the stuff I wanted to have near me had gate-checking the bag been insisted upon.

As a result, I put my ScottEVest through somethng of a torture test. I hope it survived. It seems to have.

The next leg boards in about 15 minutes. I need to grab some shuteye.
