The flight out of O'Hare sat on the tarmac for quite some time while controllers tried to figure out how to route us to avoid some pretty nasty weather between Chicago and Denver, with the end result being that we landed at about 7:45 pm, a scant half hour or so before my connection to Durango was scheduled to take off.
I needn't have worried, because by the time I got off the plane, my departure had been delayed from 8:18 pm to something like 8:50 pm, and by the time I got to the gate (at the very other end of the B concourse, but I should count my blessings), it was delayed until 9:30 pm, the time I was originally scheduled to arrive in Durango.
In the end, I got to Durango, found my car (which Drew and Shannon had staged for me on Sunday), and got home just at midnight.
Shiloh was quite happy to see me, as was Hana. Zora was chasing her tail, as usual, and Micky—well, I found Micky under the verandah, yowling, but when I opened the door between that area and the garage, he just glowered at me from behind a chink in the junk, as if to say: "Beat it, bub, I'm busy!"
I became acutely aware that we had taken the coffee-maker with us to New York this morning when I stumbled into the kitchen.
Thank goodness for Starbucks, and VIA.
Cheers...
