There were no new messages on my DROID this morning when I left for the ham breakfast (if you didn't count the one from the German translation agency, which apparently was blasted to every translator on ProZ, regardless of language combination), but as of a few minutes ago, my dance card for the weekend is full (to, perhaps, overflowing).

Can't complain, can I?

But it does sort of kill the idea of going over to Durango to do some shopping.

And it's a good thing I don't desperately need anything in Durango.

We received a letter from the state motor vehicle department (interestingly, a division of the state's department of revenue), threatening action if proof of payment isn't provided for a traffic ticket issued in New Mexico some time ago.

I called the New Mexico authorities, and they acknowledged that the ticket had been paid, and offered to fax me the confirmation. I gave them my eFax number, but haven't seen the fax yet.

Getting that steep discount from eFax a while back would appear to have been false economy, as the only faxes eFax appears capable of delivering come from some outfit called "Corp Travel Dept" or some other outfit whose called ID is "267." On the other hand, important faxes—like a copy of my auto's insurance card or a proof of payment—seem to consistently never arrive.

This morning, I signed up with TrustFax for a 30-day trial, based on good words from one of the other hams who regularly attends our breakfasts. If I don't get anything by Monday, I'm calling New Mexico again, with the new number.

Cheers...
