Looking ahead...
Aug. 13th, 2011 05:53 pmI managed to get through a bit more than 4,400 words of the source text yesterday, and as I mentioned before, since it's a mishmash of source-to-be-translated and target-to-be-edited, it's not that easy to measure progress. For what it's worth, I got about the same amount of work done today.
Or maybe it is, as it took me about the same time to do 2,700 words of editing and 1,700 words of translation as it did to do 3,800 words of editing and 500 words of translation today.
Hopefully, that invariability will continue over the next 10 days or so, because when I divide up the rest of the file into portions of about equal size (about 4,200 words), I find that, over the next week, only two days show less than 3,000 of translation. After that, things get relatively easy, because there are a bunch of numerical tables at the end of the file, and thus, no need for editing per se.
We've got a dinner date tomorrow with the kids at the Pagosa Brewery, so I better get some quality time in at the computer tomorrow, or face the consequences later. :)
