Small distractions...
Aug. 31st, 2011 06:24 pmBesides putting the finishing touches on the job originally due tomorrow (I should not have asked for an extension!), four small documents came in today, along with two MS Project files.
My first reaction upon seeing the .mpp file extension was a bit of disbelief. I mean, I've been doing this kind of work for a very long time, and the last time I had to deal with a Project file was this one time years ago, and then it was only to incorporate a few changes in a fairly simple schedule.
In the end, I had to "send back" the Project files. Considering who the end client is, I get the feeling there might be some benefit to acquiring a legitimate copy of the software, just in case.
While searching for something completely unrelated, I ran across an email my old university roommate had sent to me last November, that promptly "drowned" among the other emails in my inbox. He and I have had a lively exchange over the past couple of days.
Apropos of which, my favorite line of today has got to be:

I felt a little flattered by her outrage, as it suggested there had been a possibility of a thin hope that perhaps, there was a latent chance that maybe, she might potentially have had some tentative interest in considering me a prospective lover, but just as there's no use complaining about the past, there's not much of a percentage in feeling smug about it, either. You don't want to know.
Cheers...
