A couple of short items arrived on the plate this morning, and I managed to translate one of them by the time Drew came by to take me shopping. Upon returning home, a third short item had arrived in the inbox, and by the time I deposited checks in the bank—Drew was kind enough to let me borrow a car—a new 5-page PDF was waiting for me, too.

I am noticing a disturbing trend of packaging translations inside of PDF files, which requires an additional despeckling step along the way, ideally performed after running the file through an OCR program. Today's PDF was not the best and not the worst in terms of quality, but it makes having a second large monitor on my desk mandatory, so that I can easily refer to the PDF "original."

In any event, the "bag" for the day is likely close to (if not over) 3,000 target words, which is not that bad, especially if one considers that (a) I walked home after dropping Drew's car at his work, (b) I cleaned the house, and (c) I prepared curried chicken for dinner with Mike, who dropped by after making deliveries locally and in Durango.

I am "too close" to the translation right now. Therefore, I shall have to get up early to finish despeckling the job.

I think I now have a better handle on why I am yawning like crazy. :^)

Cheers...
