...and although my answer is not twenty-two thousand telephone poles an hour, I'm thinking maybe I zigged when I shoulda zagged.
Seriously, I've been "lucky" these past three days in not having any work, because I've been fairly busy triaging my stuff, boxing what I'm not taking to New York and hauling the boxes to storage. I'm not sure, but it sure feels as if this serendipitous juxtaposition of "not having work" and "having something urgent to do" is a first.
Today, however, work did come in, from multiple clients. I've since sent back an edited file to one client and over 4,000 target words in six files to a second client. A final job remains, with a deadline of Tuesday, which is well and truly beyond my current planning horizon, other than as a note in my assignment log.
The fridge went on the fritz again, showing the same symptoms as about a year ago (gradual failure to refrigerate), which was caused by a faulty sensor in the coil-defrost system. The local appliance tech showed up a little while ago and found—surprise—that the same symptoms can be caused by a different failure. The part is now on order, which is one less item to worry about.
Time to "turn to" on last-minute stuff. Daylight is burning, and I have promises to keep.
Cheers...
