Where'd the day go?
Nov. 8th, 2011 07:47 pmI'm not at all sure.
Work came in late in the day, but it's a short job that I plan to attack tomorrow.
I revived one of my old man's blower units in the basement, and used it to blow leaves into a pile over on the other side of the driveway. Generally speaking, I'd say we're not even at the halfway point of leaf season, which brings to mind the Ukrainian word for November, листопад, which literally means "leaf-fall," but I digress...
The efficiency of the blower really impressed me, but then again, I'm still carrying around emotional baggage consisting of less-than-stellar memories of endless fall weekends spent helping clear the property of leaves using rakes and plastic bags.
I was going to take an afternoon nap, but went instead with Galina to an auto shop, then to a Home Depot and then an Asian store in Hempstead. By the time we got back, it was nearly dark. Dinner was simple, and I'm looking forward to an evening of Tube.
Cheers...
