Getting along...

Some annoyances in life are utterly unfathomable, such as why, when I'm editing a Word file that's in the new .docx format, when I do a "Save As" to save said file under a new name (retaining the .docx extension), a dialog box pops up to remind me I'm saving the document in the new format, and that doing so may cause changes in the layout of the document.

Some annoyances are less unfathomable, such as why the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles denied my second application for a duplicate title to my late mother's car. Visiting the closest DMV resulted in no joy, but I was told to go to the town hall in Oyster Bay, which resulted in being sent to another town hall building, which resulted in being sent to another entrance in said other building, which resulted in no joy, but I was told to visit the Glen Cove city hall, which resulted in no joy, but I was given a telephone number to call in Albany.

I have not called the number in Albany, but hopefully, the automated voice that answers when I do call won't (a) inform me that all staff members are on the phone with other people, (b) suggest I visit the department's Web site, and (c) hang up on me. (That's what happened to me when I called the DMV in Albany this morning, which prompted my trip to the local office.)

No word yet from the real estate agent about the people who blew off yesterday's appointment and—it being nearly 2 pm—appear to be blowing off today's showing as well.

Productivity thus far today: none.

I agree with Shiloh, who is looking out the window.

And growling.
