Yesterday seems to have disappeared down a memory hole, although I can drag certain bits, kicking and screaming, back from the murk.

There was the showing, which turned out not to be the last showing because the same people wanted to come back this afternoon and walk through the place again. And both yesterday and today, the injury inflicted by having to make oneself scarce during the showing—something of a universal rule—was felt ever more strongly as a result of the insult associated with not simply cleaning the place up, but to do so in a way that leaves a space as ineffably void of personality as a furniture store showroom.

There was also the drive we took down to Hempstead, during which we managed to visit the V& T Supermarket, where I was able to find "rice chips" that will work well in pad kee mao (aka "drunken stir-fry").

After dinner, we did what we should have done the previous two nights instead of hitting up the Redbox: fire up Netflix. After a false start with a film whose name I have already forgotten, we ended up watching Shaolin, the progression of which managed to make me care about what was going on.

Today's efforts mostly revolved around getting ready for the showing (again!) and clearing out for a while. This gave me an opportunity to go visit a shop named "Grace's Marketplace" down around Greenvale.

I had expected the place to be chock full of pretty expensive specialties (and indeed, there is no shortage of delicacies—whisky-soaked cheddar and Scottish smoked salmon, for example—that will put a dent in one's wallet), but there are also rather basic items on sale whose prices are comparable to those in the local Stop & Shop.

All translations have been sent. Everything has been invoiced to date (although I will hold on to one invoice in case anything shows up tomorrow or Tuesday).

Cheers...
