Another yesterday...
Jan. 27th, 2012 08:01 pmMost of the day was spent in front of the computer, and I was fortunate enough to finish everything still on the plate, which now raises the specter of there being nothing on said plate. Still, the pace of work over the past week or so has been such as to rescue January billings from "below-dismal" territory and make me welcome a weekend with nothing that has to be done, workwise.
The listing on the house expires Sunday, and I suspect the listing agent—who has arranged a last-minute, do-or-die showing tomorrow—plans to do a little selling herself, tomorrow, to convince us to relist the place, which isn't going to happen.
I wasted a perfectly good "free movie" Redbox code yesterday, renting a DVD (Sarah's Key) that neither Galina nor I were in the mood for last night, enthusiastic declarations of how good the film might be notwithstanding. In an attempt to redeem myself, I rented American Loser to watch tonight.
Heh.
Cheers...
UPDATE (11:46 pm): Apparently, the title of tonight's film is intended to aptly describe any American that (a) spends any money to obtain it, and (b) spends any time watching it. My only rationalization for having done (b) was the wholly erroneous hypothesis that no film could be as utterly without purpose, plot, message, or "socially redeeming value" as this one turned out to be.
