All caught up (more or less)...
Apr. 15th, 2012 09:54 pmThe day's work has been riddled with weird little touches that are so off-the-wall, I'd make a fool of myself trying to describe them. The "most normal" of these events was not being able to find a record of depositing a check a client swears was cashed.
The cable/internet went out sometime this afternoon, which I attribute to the roughly inch or so of white stuff that fell from the sky last night. Of course, what I attribute it to really isn't here or there. I called our supplier and, naturally, nobody will be around to address my outage until tomorrow (I remained on hold for 12 minutes in the vain hope of speaking to someone about the outage, but in the end, the answering machine won.)
I took advantage of the reasonable weather to walk to the grocery store and rent Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy from the Redbox, there. Galina and I watched the film after dinner and we both liked it.
As has been the case during previous bouts of whatever kicked my butt early last week, my weight dropped rather dramatically over a day or two. Unlike after previous bouts, I've been watching what I eat like a hawk, so as to avoid rebounding. My weight has remained steady over the past four days. I suspect I'll need to remain vigilant over the next several weeks or so, so as not to let old bad habits prevail, and to set the stage for further weight-loss progress.
I am about to the point with my large, long-term job where I'm going to have to start averaging 1,000 source words per day to get it done by the end of the month. (That's not the deadline, but it won't hurt to act as if it is.) We'll see what tomorrow brings.
