Not so bad...
Jun. 28th, 2012 09:48 pmSo there I am, thinking about how little I feel I actually got done today, when lo and behold, I check my numbers and it turns out I've done 5,000 words today.
Leaving windows open at night is still not a good idea, despite what appears to have been some rain dumped over in the vicinity of the Little Sand fire. When I went out onto the verandah this morning with the dogs, the smoke was annoyingly noticeable. Some more clouds ran through in the afternoon, dumping rain and lightning bolts, in the runup to our local "monsoon" season.
Late in the afternoon, Shiloh started barking as if someone was coming up our driveway. When I got to the front landing, there was nobody out front, and when I got to the verandah, it became clear that Shiloh (with some help from Thumper) had been carrying on about a [collective noun goes here, "flock"?] of what appear to be wild turkeys.

As a born-and-bred city slicker, I never fail to be amazed at the variety of animals that pass within yards of the place.
Cheers...
