Local time dilation...
Nov. 28th, 2012 09:01 pmGalina and I got out of the house in time to hit some major traffic on our way to the airport. We had not gotten very far before Natalie texted me to let me know the plane had landed, and that she would be off the plane in about 10 minutes. Twenty minutes after that, we picked Natalie up.
Eventually, by the time we got home, it was almost noon.
Natalie had not gotten any sleep on her red-eye, so she hit the sack. After putting a turkey in the oven, I napped, but never really got any rest.
Dinner turned into a Keystone Kops production, without the uniforms or the logical development. My impromptu brown-and-black-rice stuffing didn't do well in the turkey (though it was saved afterward by cooking it like rice), the turkey came out reasonably well (perhaps overdone, but not dry), and we eventually sat down to dinner and had a nice time. Thanksgiving, six days late, but any day is a good day for a nice meal with family members.
I am still hugely tired. Sleep certainly would appear to be called for.
