Losing track of time...
Nov. 29th, 2012 10:33 pmYesterday, I momentarily thought it was Thursday. Today, I made up for that by momentarily thinking it was Wednesday. Work came in in a steady stream, and somehow, I managed to deal with it. I even got an invoice out the pipe (another needs to be sent tomorrow).
Natalie and I had a late lunch at one of her favorite places around here, Pappasito's Cantina (on the I-45 service road), one of a number of restaurants owned by the Pappas brothers, the descendants of a Greek immigrant who arrived in America in 1897 and opened a restaurant. I really had little inclination to eat, wishing more to simply keep Natalie company than to stuff myself, and Galina joined us after a while (and after making a deposit at the bank). Still, the kitchen does make tasty food...
Progress continues with t'ai chi. Sifu spoke to us some more this evening, and I'm liking what I am hearing, both from the perspective of why things are the way they are at the school (i.e., the why of the rules) and how sifu (and simo) are the the way they are. In the back of my mind, I hear echoes—or perhaps they are more like resonances—of how life was structured and thinking was shaped when I was in the Marines.
It's getting late, and although I am not feeling as tuckered out as I did last night at about this time, I am looking forward to some shuteye. Natalie is out eating dinner with a former colleague from her previous job, but she is a big girl, so it is not incumbent on me or Galina to stay up and wait for her to return.
I probably should leave a door unlocked, though. :)
Cheers...
