A fine day...
Jan. 8th, 2013 11:03 pm...if you're an amphibian. The day was nothing if not wet. Lightning in the early morning, drizzle during the rest of the day.
I didn't quite get everything done that I wanted, but the day was not a complete loss. I made another loaf of bread (I sure do miss the baking stone), and some yogurt, and got started with work fairly late in the day.
The material I'm translating is starting to "win me over," in terms of its subject matter, but the colloquial nature of his text has me sending multiple emails to Feht to ask what various constructions mean. It doesn't help—except indirectly, as a sop to my ego—that some such expressions make little or no sense. As Feht noted, the writer's style is "out there."
I was gratified to note that the television season did not actually end just short of Christmas, it just got discombobulated with all of the end-of-year specials. Last night's Castle was enjoyable, but had me wondering just when it became common knowledge at Beckett's precinct that she and Castle were in a relationship? And tonight's NCIS double-header was a grabber, too (even if it did involve a first-of-two-part episode and, theoretically, keep me away from the keyboard... although, hey, maybe I ought to be glad that something like that happened!).
I need to go downstairs and haul the yogurt out of the oven, and then get to sleep. The Routine Stuff™ may just start up again tomorrow, with some gusto.
Cheers...
