An idle thought...
Apr. 1st, 2013 10:45 pmI'm wondering if replaying an intensely unpleasant moment in one's mind several times after the fact is of any greater benefit than not having such replays occur. (In other words, wasn't the experience itself enough?)
I ask this as I recall how so many of the Mercury astronauts were able to maintain normal blood pressure—and wasn't it Gordon Cooper who actually fell asleep?—while strapped into the capsule waiting to launch.
Now, that's self-control!
