Waiting for a Stilletto...
Jun. 27th, 2013 10:33 pm...aka, an SS-19, carrying an earth observation satellite.
For safety reasons, we have been "evacuated" from the hotel area owing to the proximity of the launch silo (less than 4 km from the Fili Hotel), so we are currently hanging out at the office, chatting and passing the time. Someone has hooked the conference phone into the flight director's feed, and we heard the 30-minutes-to-launch exchanges a few minutes ago.
My understanding is that we'll be leaving the building a few minutes before launch, again for safety reasons.
So I better pack my stuff... (been doing a little work, dontchaknow).
