Confused...
Dec. 3rd, 2013 08:52 amThe ownCloud sync ran through the night, and as of a few minutes ago, it would appear that the process was able to handle 75 GB of data in 24 hours.
Three gigabytes to go.
I had noted earlier that ownCloud has a tendency to want to sync everything, due to an apparent bug that (if I understood the description correctly) causes tags associated with each file—and which indicate whether a file needs to be synchronized—to change. But the subdirectory I'm using on my machine to "mirror" the files sent to my local cloud weighs in at 157 GB.
Hmmm.
I cannot help but notice that the size of the sync (78 GB) appears to be very close to half of that number. Of course, between the several definitions of a gigabyte in common use (which range between 1,000,000,000 bytes and 1,073,741,824 bytes), there's no real telling.
More later, maybe. It's time to get to work.
