Life, the Universe, etc...
Mar. 26th, 2014 11:01 pmI've not tried to formally document the phenomenon, but it seems to me that spam—or at least that part of it that gets through my filters—seems to come in "waves." The latest of these appears to be aimed at people wanting to make "big money writing copy for Internet clients."
Yikes!
For laughs, I've read some of these messages (after first having made sure that my Thunderbird setup does not give me up by sending any acknowledgments or pinging any beacons), and have concluded that this is a new twist on an old scheme. There are almost certainly writing jobs out there, but as is the case with the translation industry, one almost certainly has to work for the money.
* * * I've managed to finish translating the gruesome part of the book section I'm working on, so life is a little bit more bearable. I've just over 7,000 source words left in this project, and overall, counting what I translated of the book and the good, stiff slug of The Routine Stuff™ that dropped in the inbox today, I've done a respectable amount of work since getting up.
* * * Delirious praise for Anki has me testing the system out. More later, maybe.
* * * Apropos of which, I need to seriously get up to speed with Android sooner, rather than later.
Cheers...
