More progress...
Apr. 14th, 2014 11:16 pmI had intended to file an extension today, but will have to do so tomorrow. In preparation, I pretty much emptied the plate, and the one thing I do have on it right now will just have to wait.
The last of The Partisan Job™ went out the wire today, among other things. I managed to translate all but about 700 words of the last file yesterday, and my only excuse for not getting more done was the fact that I kept starting to sob, reading about what happened a long time ago on the other side of the world. Galina reminded me, however, that I needn't go that far to find marvelous examples of inhumanity—the evening news report would do the trick equally well. I shall deal with the invoice tomorrow or, more likely, Wednesday.
I have no idea why I hadn't noticed it before, but one of the other tai chi students—a young man who started taking lessons about six months ago—has made significant strides in slimming down. His secret is to apparently engage in tai chi for several hours a day, and he suggests that he's also made some modest changes to his diet (no sugar, more veggies... things like that). I like to think I'd be capable of that kind of application, if I had the time, but my experience in Kazakhstan last summer—during which my practice of the form was spotty—would suggest that it would take some significant effort for me to apply myself to that extent.
It's late. Time to go to sleep.
