Incessant laughter...
Apr. 16th, 2014 10:16 pmThe highlight of the day, hands down, took place in Kemah, at the tourist trap destination known as the Boardwalk, on a ride on the "Boardwalk Bullet," an old-fashioned roller coaster built of wood. The ride was evidently designed to convert every last erg of potential energy gathered during the lull-you-into-a-false-sense-of-security initial ascent into a kind of hell-for-leather kinetic energy you never, ever want to encounter out in the wild. I tried to capture the experience with a small, hand-held videocam, but most of the result shows only the empty seats in front of me, or my surroundings, but not much of the ride per se.
Dinner was "the usual" over at Pier 8: a good portion of their shrimp, a catfish filet, an order of fries, and a jalapeño frito, all washed down with a Negra Modelo.
I am slowly coming around to the idea that I should routinely take my weekends during the week. The trick is going to be to get my clients to go along with the gag.
Cheers...
