Wading through molasses...
Apr. 21st, 2014 11:34 pmAn interesting piece Why I Killed My Standing Desk, and What I Do Instead caught my eye earlier today, and it got me to wondering if my persistence in using this mode of work for almost two years hasn't resulted in some of the downside that's described in the article. It'll certainly be food for thought once I get some time to catch my breath.
There goes that phrase, "one I get some time." A close relative of "when I get around to it." (Have you ever seen a round beer coaster with "TUIT" printed on it? I remember I got one at a productivity seminar some decades ago. The idea was that, now that I've "gotten a round TUIT," I was now empowered to do whatever it was I was reluctant to do until I'd gotten one. Not funny then; not funny now. But I digress...)
Declared my second LJ Idol bye, which is not like me at all. I suspect part of the reason for this state of affairs has to do, at least for the nonce, with the crazy assignments I've been getting (which have to be done "in between" the regular ones, which is when I normally dream up LJ Idol posts), as well as with the fact that I have a tai chi habit that must be fed.
That said, LJ Idol is also a habit that must be fed. Just sayin'...
Tonight's tai chi, by the way, went very well. My tendinitis is almost gone, and I got a good workout. I even made notes about what was said afterward, which only emphasized my need to develop a compact way to describe coordinated body movements of two people, as occurs when doing "push hands." I suspect that just taking such notes may go a long way toward embedding at least their essentials in my mind.
It's late (mostly because I just sent off an assignment, with a half hour to spare!).
Time for rack drill.
Cheers...
