Coming up to speed...
May. 14th, 2014 11:25 pmGetting more and more done of the things that've been clogging the pipes around here. Among other things, I completed two translations and worked on a franchise tax document due tomorrow, so at least that part is under control.
In other news, I'm finding that the reduced use of the salt shaker in our cooking is making it almost impossible to eat out.
Said reduction is not the result of "doctor's orders," per se. That reducing salt intake may aid in maintaining health is doubtless a plus, but it's not my overarching aim, which is to actually taste the food I'm eating. Call me crazy, but there you have it.
But this trend is not without its cost. A few months ago, Galina and I stopped at an Olive Garden restaurant, where we ordered their "bottomless soup and salad bowl." I literally could not eat their soup, it was so salty. I went away, comforting myself with the thought that I could at least always enjoy a bowl of phở without having the same reaction.
That thought was shattered yesterday, when Galina and I found ouselves at my favorite phở place near the space center, and while the broth was consumable, either the cook had upped the salt content since the last time I was there, or I've simply become even more sensitive to salt in my food.
In still other news, I've gotten to the point, over the past couple of weeks, to where I'm exercising for at least an hour each day, and today, for the first time, I actually felt a difference in my carriage while out in public.
More news later, as developments develop.
Cheers...
