This and that...
May. 13th, 2014 10:38 pmThe recent loss of some of my Word macros affords me to not only an opportunity to recreate them, but to do so from a different perspective.
For example, I had a macro that started by opening a file containing a simple preformatted table whose purpose, basically, was to put a border around the document contents. As a solution, it worked, but the fact that the macro worked only so long as a particular file was not renamed or moved (for which reason I named it DoNotRenameOrMoveThisFile.doc) lent the whole escapade just a soupçon of inelegance, so when I rewrote the macro, I actually went through the steps of creating the table, formatting the page, and so on. It tested out okay with samples, so there's really nothing left to do but wait to see how it does "under fire."
It was raining when I fed the dogs this morning. When I opened the door to let them out, Shiloh took one look and did a one-eighty, heading straight to the bedroom, with Thumper not far behind. Something had to be done quickly, lest twin unfortunate "accidents" take place.
I extended an invitation to go for a walk (by grabbing their leads), which got their attention. I banked on the dogs willing to get wet, provided it was for the glory of a walk, and my bet paid off. We all three of us got thoroughly soaked and not only was all business duly addressed, but I could swear we had a good time. (For sure, I kept a silly grin on my face, if for no other reason than to let the morning commuters who whizzed by know that this was something I was doing deliberately and with enthusiasm!)
Cheers...
