Cold, clammy, and overcast...
Dec. 23rd, 2014 06:51 pmThe fact that I had set the alarm in order to get up in time to put out the trash interrupted what might have been a nice continuation of a snooze. However, the weather cheek-slapped the sleep from my body and proceeded to do absolutely nothing to buoy my mood today.
So I put some time into three assignments, which got sent off, after which I looked at the month's billings to date, which are below mediocre and will likely not budge until next Monday, for a day or two before the year closes out.
Something strange is going on with a battery pack to my old HTX-202 scanner from Radio Shack. The individual batteries are okay, and if I put them into the pack one by one, I get good readings for voltage, and for the pack as a whole once all the batteries are in, but when I insert the pack into its plastic case and attach the unit to the scanner, nothing happens.
Removing the pack shows there to be no voltage being across the terminals that come into contact with the receiver proper. I was able to attach the guts of the pack to the scanner, and the unit turned on, but all I get is an "Err 1" message.
This is certainly not a high priority, but a mild annoyance. I've had the scanner for some time, and it always worked well. Figuring out what's wrong is something to do when I get a round tuit, I suppose.
Cheers...
