One more lap...
May. 22nd, 2015 09:04 pmAs I had been given the word to stand by for work this weekend—hopefully not so much as to interfere with a bbq on Sunday afternoon—I decided to do today what I had scheduled for tomorrow.
The plan actually worked out pretty well.
Then at around 5:30 pm, I got the file that had been promised for tomorrow, and proceeded to work with it. As it turned out, after three hours of hammering, I was able to send back the file with everything done that needed doing.
I'm still standing by to see if that was, mayhaps, not so good a move, as I've known quick turnaround to have the effect of tempting the end client to make "a few more" tweaks to the document, requiring yet one more pass (and this one, under greater pressure).
In gardening news, little spinach sprouts have come up, and there's a multitude of zucchini flowers on the squash plants. I've also noticed ants crawling on the plants, but hopefully, this is not a sign of any kind of infestation.
Apropos of ants, later in the afternoon, I picked up one of the luffas that I had thrown, a while back, into the back yard (in back of the garage), and brought it around to a bucket of bleach solution that I had set up on the patio. My plan was to soak what remained of the gourd to both get rid of the original skin remnants and to address the discoloration and mold.
After about 15 minutes of immersion in the solution, I took the gourd out and almost immediately had to drop it, because a small, yet feisty colony of ants had somehow sealed themselves away and survived the dunking, and let me tell you... they were not pleased to have spent time in such an unfriendly environment and immediately dispersed, looking for someone tocomplain to bite!
Once the ants had dispersed, I was pleased to see that the luffa actually looked reasonably decent.
Last night's rest was not very restful. I fell asleep around midnight and woke up around 3:30 am, at which point I began to toss and turn, and eventually I got up. I think I took a 30-minute nap around 9:30 am. Since then, I've been on the go, and have been yawning for the past hour or so.
I am so looking forward to a good night's sleep.
Cheers...
