Getting less puny by the minute...
Jun. 10th, 2015 10:37 pmI haven't heard a peep from my best client since last Thursday, and through one might reasonably expect something of an assignment drought after letting folks know about medical appointments, the relationship I have with my client would not have precluded my receiving jobs during that time period, had any arrived.
That said, the Accelerated Deadline Jobâ„¢ is keeping this month so far from being a dud in terms of billings. And that said, things had better start looking up, or I will have to start a different kind of "looking."
* * * Today was a day for carpet cleaning, as in having a couple of healthy young people come by and use technology to recover as much life as there was to recover from the second-floor carpets.
Galina and I spent time this morning emptying out the bedrooms to give the cleaners a place to work (without, one might add, having to shell out extra for them to configure their work space.as well). Their advertised ability to repair heavily soiled spots (by replacing them with patches cut from a section of identical carpet) was almost put to the test, except that the cost would have been prohibitive.
The rest of the day was spent napping.
While I slept, the reference implementation of the Bitcoin Core that I installed on my Linux laptop finished synchronizing a copy of The Blockchain (i.e., all Bitcoin transactions since Satoshi Nakomoto kicked the whole thing off more than 6 years ago). I figure having a copy of the blockchain (the name is not really capitalized) will allow me to learn more about the technology. One thing I've learned already is that something like 80% of all transactions have taken place within the past year or so.
I am feeling much better overall; almost 100%. Tomorrow is going to be One Serious Day, no kidding.
Cheers...
