Getting off the dime...
Sep. 29th, 2015 11:52 pmI dropped an email to my best client this morning, casually noting that I believed I was ready to get back in the saddle, and was rewarded with a modest job and a two-day deadline. I took my time, but still sent the job back in the early afternoon.
My "synergy project" ran into a glitch today, as it became clear that the ability of a small clipboard object to cross from one computer to another did not work with my setup. It was difficult enough trying to find information on what, if anything, one needed to do to activate the feature, and I found a discomfiting number of bug reports about this feature involving various systems over the past several years.
One thing that stands out as a potential source of trouble is the fact that I'm using a packaged, precompiled binary on my Raspberry Pi, which may not be configured to provide a communications capability for clipboard objects. In any event, I sent an email to the company's support staff, and remain hopeful that the problem can be solved without too much trouble.
Who knows? Maybe that additional digging I did yesterday will come in handy, after all.
Cheers...
