Earlier in the week, Galina and I came home with a "vibration training machine," and I was all set to start in with it, except that some perverse (and fortunate, I suppose) streak in me googled whether this would be a good idea for someone with cancer.

The consensus was not just no, but heck no, so we took the machine back. As it turns out, the money can be better spent some other place.

So, starting Wednesday, I broke out the broke bike (the gear shift mechanism is kaput) and started pedalling around the neighborhood. I started out pretty slow, doing 6 "loops" on Wednesday, increasing to 8 yesterday, and 13 today.

Doing much more than 7 or 8 at a time is probably the workable limit, not so much because my legs get tired, but because my hands do.

I weighed in at 215.4 today, which is a local record for me. Doc wants me down around 170-180, so I still have a way to go.

It was a "light" work day today, in that I did no translation, but I did a heck of a lot of OCR and other quasi-clerical tasks.

The State of the Plate™ is currently very good, both in terms of quantity of work on the plate and the pressure to get it done. Regular translation work will recommence tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday today.

Cheers...
