By 10 am, it was clear that the item due at noon today was going to be late. Fortunately, the client gave me some breathing room, but the document continues to stab me in the back, in the neck, and other tender spots.

The TOC turned out to be completely handmade, and an attempt to bypass this by asking Word to create one from the headings was met with a monstrous entity that pretty much included the kitchen sink.

Then, it turns out my little trick of saving all the "expansions" until last (replacing Cyrillic labels that appear in the translated text with the labels followed by translations in parenthesis) backfired big time, as there are expansions that "nest," i.e., in some cases search terms are actually substrings of longer search terms. Hilarity (not!) ensues.

Gotta get back to work! Let's see if I can get this done by the time I have to go to taiji.

Cheers...
