...can't trust that day.

Nah—to tell the truth, as days went, it was fully on the "okay" side.

For a change, I managed to outperform my to-do list, translating over 3,000 source words and catching up for yesterday's 600-word shortfall. Pretty much all other to-dos were completed as well.

In fact, I feel really good about today.

Tomorrow, I've got more therapy scheduled, followed by taiji in the evening, while Wednesday calls for me to deal with the Schedule from Aitch-Ee-Double-Toothpicks&trade all day long;, so that my survival through the next phase of the latest iteration of [livejournal.com profile] therealljidol (which closes on Wednesday night) will depend on whether our team has any byes left (or I am struck by one heck of an inspiration between now and then).

The prospect of not doing Idol any more this time around causes a very basic question to rise, like a bone, to the top of the stew I call my mind, and that is: When and if my participation in this latest LJI comes to a close, if the story I've been writing has not been resolved—and I like to think I could keep it going for quite some time—will I be able to muster the self-discipline to bring it to a finale?

It's a serious question, because while I've never had too much trouble making the time to do well-defined "work" work, I've rarely exhibited sufficient stick-to-itiveness to engage in what might be described as more speculative enterprises (be they writing stories, or a memoir (the first draft of which has basically been written here over the past decade and a half), or creating video courses, or selling books online, or what have you...).

I shall do some serious thinking along these lines as I undergo leukapheresis tomorrow.

Cheers...
