Sixteen tons...
May. 12th, 2016 10:07 pmTake the subject line any way you like; I can think of at least six applications off the top of my head.
Our flirtation with cutting the cable/smashing the dish came to an end today. While there were a few programs worth watching on OTA television, it turns out that—unlike the much-maligned, old-fashioned analog signals, which allowed you to watch a broadcast, even if the picture wasn't perfect—receiving receiving programs digitally is a sort of all-or-nothing affair.
True, perhaps our reception would've been better if we expended greater resources on antenna quality and quality of mounting, but in the end, we gave in to some sweet marketing slime and are back on the dish.
Translation got started late today, as Galina and I had to go pick up some purchases Galina had made yesterday, said pickups involving the rental of a truck from Home Depot. I still got a respectable amount of translation done, all things considered, and the evening's taiji managed to rather thoroughly kick my butt and exhaust me.
So I'm looking forward for some honest-to-Cthulhu rack drill, starting soon.
Cheers...
