It's never been a good bet...
May. 18th, 2016 10:44 pmGalina had every intention of getting on the road early, but come mid-morning, she was still here, and I was still helping her get ready to leave. Eventually, however, she did get on the road.
Even as the car was backing out of the driveway, I was falling into a now-familiar funk, which got me to thinking about what causes it.
The romantic explanation is that I cannot bear to be parted from my wife of nearly 40 years, but I suspect that if our positions were reversed, and it was I who was hitting the road leaving Galina at home, I would be relatively funk-free, so to speak. So perhaps a more valid explanation is that a major component of my foul mood is that Galina is getting to go on an adventure, while I'm stuck at home, keeping the home fires stoked and the animals fed.
No matter. It is what it is. It'll all be good once I get some sleep and gain some perspective on my thinking.
I got some translation done today, but not near enough. I will do better tomorrow.
In other news, a package was supposed to arrive today, but it didn't. Either the USPS tracking info hasn't been updated (unlikely) or the truck my package is on is still on the road (after making some kind of side trip), or both. I look forward to checking status after I get up.
