I exchanged texts with Galina at around 5:30 this afternoon. She was passing Lafayette, Louisiana, and I was looking at a pretty much unbroken line of nasty weather on my computer screen that stretched from the Houston area over to Lake Charles.

Under normal conditions, driving on I-10 from Lafayette to here ought to take about three hours and fifteen minutes, so under normal conditions, Galina's ETA would've been about 8:45 pm. If we assume the rotten weather forces a 50% slowdown in speed on the Interstate, then the revised ETA is midnight.

As she's not overdue yet, I won't distract her with nervous texts or calls.

In other news... there really isn't any news.

I've adopted a policy of not doing anything other than translation on Tuesdays and Thursdays, principally because having to leave for a 4-hour period starting at 5 pm puts a really crimp in the amount of time I can spend working. As a result, I finally went out to visit a grocery store today, and just in time, too, as the fridge was pretty much empty.

I shall stay up until Galina gets home, or know the reason why that's not happening.

Cheers...
