Wha...?

This morning, as I surveyed what was left to be done of the stuff on my plate, I was reminded of the closing fight scene from one of my favorite movies, My Favorite Year, where Alan Swann and King Kaiser level all the bad guys and then start looking around to see who they might have missed.

I sort of felt like that this morning with my translations. I have one that's smoldering right now, but I expect to get it done shortly, and once that's done, the load for the weekend will suddenly look puny compared to the past few days.

Shortly, as in—post this already and get to work!

The article has been translated and sent.

So I can now kick back a bit and wonder about how June billings turned out reasonably good (best so far this year, in fact).

Well, maybe not wonder. Maybe "bask" is a better word.

But not for too long. Folks'll get jealous.

July is one of the months during which the NaJoWriMo site does its thing. I think.

The prompt I saw in the morning's Twitter stream was something along the lines of "Compile a list of all the cities where you spent the night."

Jeez.

I could try, but I'll guarantee my list will be incomplete, if for no other reason than I had a summer job once, during my university years, that required me to travel around the United States three days a week to visit manufacturing plants. Some place names from that summer are memorable (East Mankato, in Minnesota), others city names (Pittsburgh, Milwaukee) I'm simply not so sure about, at least not for that summer.

Still, it's an interesting idea.

I had floated the idea with granddaughter Huntür that she and I have a "dialog" online, using something like LJ as a medium, where she would ask questions and I would provide answers, but despite an enthusiastic endorsement over the course of a phone conversation, the idea appears to have fallen by the wayside.

Ah, well... I think I'll go and bask for a few more minutes before "turning to."

Cheers...
