It was going to be a long Sunday no matter how it got sliced, but having the straw that broke the cellular camel's back come down today only made it worse.

Or better, depending on your point of view. More about which tomorrow, once my phone number has "transferred" from Consumer Cellular to T-Mobile.

I didn't get as much done this weekend as I had planned, but whatever I had planned went where all plans go upon first contact with the enemy, despite the fact that today, there wasn't an enemy in sight.

I finally got to a point in my translations where, if I apply myself tomorrow morning early, I will be able to deliver and—more to the point—invoice work that I'll book for July. (It's not that July's billings well-and-truly-suck, but there is a discernible pressure differential from their exterior to their interior, if you get my meaning.) Today's "bag": about 3,000 words.

Now throw in going over to to the Webster house (a scant 17 minutes from "here" if there is hardly any traffic and only red lights to contend with, which makes a round trip an unrecoverable 34 minutes of one's life). Further deponent saith not.

But why am I complaining? I went to T-Mobile and...

No. Tomorrow. When I am calmer and a bit more... I don't know... mindful?

All I will say is that, at the end of a series of calls to customer service today, Galina came into my office and asked "Who are you and what have you done with my husband?"—turning around a line (from Invasion of the Body-Snatchers, I think)—that I often launch in her direction when she acts in some atypical manner. Apparently, according to my ever-lovin' spouse, I didn't lose my temper even once and remained friendly during all those calls. (Slander and calumny, I say! I never lose my temper and am always friendly on the telephone.)

Anyway, if I am going to get up early, I'm going to have to get a good night's sleep, so I better get to it.

Cheers...
