An intriguing mystery...
Aug. 7th, 2016 09:44 pmIt was a very long day, made longer by traffic on the interstates, far from urban centers. In particular, along the section of highway that is both I-64 East and I-81 North in Virginia, Galina and I ran into a series of slowdowns—indeed, both northbound lanes actually came to a halt a couple of times, and not just for a few seconds—only to start to gather speed again until everyone is again tooling along at the speed limit and a few miles per hour beyond, and no explicit cause, such as a fender-bender or construstion, to account for it..
I am convinced there is a PhD thesis in there, somewhere.
Between the traffic and occasional showers, we arrived at our destination for the day a couple of hours "late" (it wasn't as if there was a set time for us to arrive by), and after a comfortable meal and conversation, Galina and I ready to hit the hay.
I managed to get some more work done in the car, but I find it's not a very comfortable configuration, physically, in which to work. I get about 20 minutes in, after which I have to stop, shut down the machine, and then "work out the kinks," so to speak.
Tomorrow, it's New York for us. Right now, however, Morpheus calls.
Cheers...
