The front lawn has sprouted a nice crop of inedible bitter boletes, and I spied various fruiting bodies of other fungi while driving to and from the other house over the past couple of days, so—if anyone's listening—it's time to ease off on the rain and thunder and lightning! :)

I turned to finishing a bunch of work this morning after rising, and as I did so, I wondered if I'm subconsciously following the advice Hemingway penned about stopping work in the middle of something so as to have some place to "pick up" the next day with some momentum? In the end, I don't care.

On the other hand, after two hours of craziness, I was about ready to fall down, so I went back to bed for a couple of hours.

In the meantime, the sun came out, but things are now back to normal (it's cloudy, raining, and noisy from all the thunder), and I'm back at the face of the mine, feeling strangely calm.

The rain will make it hard-to-impossible to make a run to the other house, but that's not the priority. Nine outstanding articles—make that eight, now—are the priority. That, and visiting the dentist tomorrow, as my jaw has begun to ache rather severely and needs attention.

Always something, ain't it?

Cheers...
