My taiji partner happens to be a long-time resident of Friendswood, which is the area of Harris County where our "new" house is located. In the course of yesterday's push-hands, I asked if there were coyotes in the area.

"Yes," said my partner, as he moved me off-balance, "there are. They tend to run up and down the creeks, and they like to go after small animals, including small dogs."

It did not occur to me to ask whether "small animals" included cats, but it occurs to me now that cats would make every effort not to be identified or taken as game.

I don't think this news will change the way we live. Thumper has always been kept close to the house.

Not had one of these in a long time...

Today turned out to be one of those days when time took a vacation and one thing after another turned into everything all at once.

Bottom line—I got about an hour of translation done, along with a few errands.

Major takeaway—the world has not come to an end.

I'd cry "Mulligan!" but there's nobody to listen.
